Overseas forms usually split the address into Address line 1/2, City, State/Province, ZIP, and Country. Once you know which part of a Korean address goes into each field, errors drop sharply. The tables below show what this tool fills in and what each field means.
| Korean component | English field | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Road name + building no. | Address line 1 | 301 Seongam-ro |
| Unit / floor detail | Address line 2 | 101-dong, 202-ho |
| Si / Gun / Gu | City | Mapo-gu |
| Province / metro city | State / Province | Seoul · Gyeonggi-do |
| Postal code (5 digits) | Postal / ZIP code | 03923 |
| Country | Country | South Korea |
| Field | Seoul example | Gyeonggi-do example |
|---|---|---|
| Address line 1 | 301 Seongam-ro | 235 Pangyoyeok-ro |
| Address line 2 | 101-dong, 202-ho | (leave blank if none) |
| City | Mapo-gu | Bundang-gu, Seongnam-si |
| State / Province | Seoul | Gyeonggi-do |
| ZIP | 03923 | 13494 |
| Country | South Korea | South Korea |
| Putting the same value in City and State — for Seoul use "Seoul" as State; for a province use "Gyeonggi-do". |
| Cramming the unit number into Address line 1 — keep unit details in Address line 2. |
| Using a machine translation of the road name — always use the official English spelling this tool provides. |
| Writing the old 6-digit postal code — Korea now uses 5-digit road-name ZIP codes. |
Into Address line 2. When you type the unit detail (e.g. 101동 202호), this tool converts it to 101-dong, 202-ho and fills Address line 2.
Usually put the gu (e.g. Mapo-gu) in City and "Seoul" in State/Province. For a province like Gyeonggi-do, use "Gyeonggi-do" as State and the si/gu as City. Fields are editable since forms vary.
This tool uses the standardized spelling from the Korean government English-address API. Translators may paraphrase road names, which can cause shipping delays or application rejections.
It is free and works immediately with no sign-up.
Search by road or building name without unit details. For example: "성암로 301" or "판교역로 235".
